ShopWell Privacy Policy

ShopWell is a shopping planner that runs entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no server of ours behind it. Everything you plan stays on your phone; the only feature that touches the internet is the optional map picker, explained below.

What We Collect

Nothing.

ShopWell has no sign-up or sign-in and no servers of ours that receive your information. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no tracking identifiers of any kind. SeMo Lab never sees your shops, products, prices, schedules, or anything else — there is no system on our side that could receive them.

Data Stored on Your Device

Your shop directory (names, addresses, map coordinates, notes), product catalog with photos, price records, shopping lists, scheduled trips and reminders, and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your phone, which Android shields from other apps. Product photos you take are kept inside the app — they are not added to your gallery.

Nothing is uploaded or synced anywhere, and ShopWell's data is excluded from Android's cloud backup. "Clear All Data" in Settings wipes your data in-app; uninstalling removes everything.

Network Connections

ShopWell talks to the internet in exactly one place: the optional "Choose Location" map picker when adding or editing a shop. While that map is open, it loads its tiles from Google Maps, so Google sees the area you're viewing and your device's IP address — the same as opening any Google Map. That traffic is governed by Google's privacy policy, and it never happens unless you open the picker.

Beyond that, links you tap open outside the app: getting directions hands the shop's saved address to your maps app (never your own position), and shop or product websites open in your browser. ShopWell itself sends no telemetry, checks for no updates, and makes no request you didn't cause.

Your Location

If you use "use my location" or turn on nearby-shop reminders, your position is read from the device and used on the device — to center the map or to compare against your saved shops. It is never stored beyond the shop coordinates you choose to save, and it is never transmitted anywhere by ShopWell; no code path exists to send it. Location features are optional and off until you use them.

Backups You Create

Export creates a single backup file (your shops, products, prices, schedules, settings, and photos) and opens the Android share sheet — you choose where it goes, nothing is uploaded automatically, and we never see it. The file is not encrypted, so store or share it with the same care as any personal document. Sharing a shopping list works the same way, as plain text through the share sheet.

Permissions

ShopWell requests: internet (only the map picker uses it), location (only for the optional features above), notifications with exact-timing and restart-after-reboot so trip reminders fire on time, and camera access when you choose to photograph a product.

It does not request your contacts or microphone, and it reads no files beyond the backups you explicitly pick.

Children and Minors

ShopWell collects no personal data from anyone, of any age, and therefore collects none from minors. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no user-to-user communication.

Because no information ever reaches SeMo Lab, there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request the deletion of. If you have any concern about a minor's use of the app, contact us at info@semo-lab.com.

Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete the personal data a company holds about you. SeMo Lab holds no personal data about ShopWell users, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, amend, or erase. We do not sell or share personal information, because we never receive any. The map picker's traffic to Google is governed by Google's policy — and you can simply not use the picker.

You keep full control of the data on your device: export it whenever you like, wipe it with "Clear All Data" in Settings, or uninstall the app to erase everything. Backup files you exported remain wherever you put them, under your control.

Changes to This Policy

If ShopWell's privacy practices ever change, this page will be updated and the date above revised. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly amended.
